We have an adjustment to the Ascendant Serpent in Altar of Fangs currently in testing that should be applied shortly:

Ascendant Serpent
Infest
Damage reduced by 20%.
Now spawns 3 Hatchlings, down from 5.
Hatchlings can no longer critically strike.
